A set of portraits from a few weeks ago that I just unearthed.
Before the rain arrives again, here’s a couple of photos to remind us that it was sunny once this summer! We had a great time out on the Heath last week soaking up some sun during a shoot.
Last month I shot a series of portraits for the Royal Institue of British Architects for their campaign for student pay. Over the last two years there has been a significant increase in the number of new graduates being asked to work for free by the industry, and so the series of case studies that I was involved in are aimed at highlighting to practices the skills that graduates bring to the table.
Thanks very much to all involved, it was lovely meeting you all and your help and cooperation was hugely appreciated! A special thank you as well to the site foreman who stepped in at the last minute as my assistant, half way up a tower block in Glasgow.

Sam Potts 1979-2011
I just heard the very sad news that Sam Potts has passed away after a short battle with cancer. I photographed Sam two years ago for the After Redundancy series and have kept in touch since. He always had an amazing amount of curious and entertaining projects going on and the world will be a less colourful place without him. He will be missed.
There are some nice, new portraits up on my website now over at www.whitakerstudio.co.uk and if you visit RIBA’s website you can see a series of portraits that I shot for them last month.
My brother tipped me off about the rather nice site First-Stop.org a couple of days ago. It’s a great idea and an essential resource for creatives on the hunt for a photographer or illustrator.
My friend Tom has been having a go at programming for the Xbox kinect, and devised this rather fun juggling game! I’m looking forward to seeing what he gets up to with it now that he’s had a successful test…
